Dan is the Head of Music at John Mason School and the Chapel Music Tutor and Organist of
St Hugh's College, Oxford. At John Mason he is responsible for teaching the GCSE and A Level courses, as well as managing a lively KS3 curriculum. At St Hugh's College he works with a well-established choir of mixed undergraduates singing weekly choral evensongs during term. At Kingham Hill he conducts three choirs, including the chapel choir which sings regular services of choral matins and evensong during term. Prior to taking over at John Mason in January 2021 he was Head of Music at Kingham Hill School for 6 years where he developed the department into one with a good reputation for a thriving extra-curricular provision. Before moving into teaching full-time he had previously delivered the A Level Music course at Oxford Tutorial College in the city centre, as well as teaching instrumental lessons on organ and piano (classical and jazz) at Rye St Antony School. He also still maintains a small private teaching practice, based in Oxford and surrounding areas, where he teaches organ, as well as tutoring A Level and ABRSM Music Theory grades. |
