Dan offers lessons and tutorials in the following disciplines.
He has experience working with children and adults of all ages,
and would be glad to hear from you to discuss tuition.
Organ & Piano
Dan teaches organ at St Hugh's College, Oxford, in addition to private teaching in Oxford and the Cotswolds.
Recent pupils have achieved Distinctions in ABRSM examinations and Organ Scholarships to Oxbridge colleges.
Teaching is available at all levels from beginners (who are encouraged!) to those preparing for the RCO practical and written exams.
A Level Music / Theory
Dan has delivered the A Level curriculum on the Edexcel, AQA and OCR boards at several different schools and colleges, and has had experience teaching both A Level and GCSE in a number of state and independent schools.
He offers private tuition in the components of the A Level course (composition, techniques, analysis, and history) and in preparation for the ABRSM Theory Grades.
Dan offers a variety of lessons in a number of areas important to performing musicians. As an experienced accompanist he is happy to work with solo instrumentalists preparing for examinations, masterclasses or festivals.
He offers conducting classes for those working with choirs or ensembles, and also prepares students who wish to enter the ABRSM's Practical Musicianship examination. (Grade 5 in this discipline is accepted as an alternative to Grade 5 Theory.)
